Katya has a pre-eminent professional reputation as a coach, consultant and trainer working at an international level and across multiple industries, often at a senior level. She relishes partnering with leaders and their teams in psychologically-informed yet genuinely compassionate approaches to enable positive transformation for individuals and team communities alike. A creative disrupter at heart, she is known for bringing sessions to life with a spirited, agile and creative style and has a knack for making complex topics accessible and as practically relevant as possible. Katya’s unique perspective is the result of her unusual combination of skills and career experiences.
Once a professional opera singer, Katya subsequently spent almost 20 years as an academic, therapist, coach and facilitator. With an MA in phenomenology (2003) and a PhD in leadership studies (2010), paired by genuine fascination with human development, she now has particular practical expertise in ethics, allyship, cross-cultural tension and mindfulness as a tool in both wellbeing and generative thinking. Katya is an ICF-accredited coach, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, by whom she was recognized for her professional contribution.
A very hands-on sort of person, Katya concurrently spent 17 years serving as a key member of a central London NHS therapeutic team in HIV+ care, running specialist community, palliative care and addiction clinics – an experience she cites as her training ground in understanding resilience, wellbeing and the need for allyship as a tool to achieve both. She continues to be motivated to play her part in achieving a just and equitable society.
Katya lives in Surrey with her partner and two young sons.
